Round Midnight

AriSawkaDoria's rendition of Thelonious Monk's timeless composition 'Round Midnight' showcases the trio's distinctive approach to blending raw emotion with technical mastery. This dynamic trio brings together KJ Sawka – Drum & Bass icon from Pendulum and Destroid, Joe Doria – Hammond B3 virtuoso from Syncopated Taint Septet, and Ari Joshua – experimental jazz guitarist from The All's Eye, Big High, and Swampdweller. Recorded following successful performances at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, where Ari Joshua guested with Keller Williams, and after KJ Sawka's Pendulum shows, the track captures the energy and chemistry developed through their collaborative journey. Ari Joshua is fresh off a 4-week creative burst including a week in Woodstock, NY making an album with John Medeski & Billy Martin, and a week in Brooklyn recording with John Kimock, Andy Hess, and Eden Ladin, followed by two weeks of performances in New York. The trio originally came together in a whirlwind recording session that produced eleven original tracks traversing a new, uncharted musical universe. Their debut, Chapter ONE, released nationwide on Wax Orchard, marked the beginning of their exploration into uncharted territories of sound. Since then, AriSawkaDoria has continued pushing boundaries, reimagining classics like 'Naima' and 'Round Midnight' through their unique lens.
